As a Principal Material Designer with a focus on sustainability at our company, you will be a key player in advancing our commitment to designing for a better planet. This position calls for a dynamic individual who can seamlessly blend creative vision with material technologies to advance our efforts towards good designs for the planet.

Key Qualifications:

For consideration, you must bring the following minimum skills and experiences to our team:

  • Material and manufacturing expert: Develop an extensive knowledge of material manufacturing processes and the environmental impact of various materials. Partner with our design for sustainability experts to make informed decisions in material selection and taking innovative ideas through to prototype and realisation. 

  • Collaborative Innovator: Work closely with our design and engineering teams to identify and develop material solutions. Your role is pivotal in ensuring these solutions are not only environmentally sustainable but also meaningfully unique for Logitech. 

  • Advocacy and Communication: Advocate for new material adoption. Your ability to craft compelling narratives around new sustainable materials will resonate and drive broader understanding and adoption throughout the company. 


 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Industrial Design or a related field. 

  • A diverse portfolio showcasing strong design work, including a range of projects that highlight your thinking and creativity.

  • Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, 3D and rendering tools such as KeyShot a plus.

  • Strong understanding of design principles, colour theory, material properties, proportion and manufacturing processes.

  • Extensive knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes.

  • A passion for sustainability and a commitment to designing products that contribute positively to the planet. 

  • Creative problem-solving skills with the ability to explore and prototype with alternative, sustainable material solutions. 

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex sustainability and manufacturing concepts.

  • A proactive learner, staying current of the latest developments in sustainable materials and environmental stewardship in product design.

  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and external partners, demonstrating effective teamwork and project management skills.
