Electrical Engineer - Electronics
Liquid Robotics is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team in the development of autonomous ocean robots and the associated hardware and accessories. As part of our small but highly-motivated team, you will participate in electrical engineering design activities that contribute to world-changing products. The successful candidate will bring Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) design capability, an ability to work on cross-functional teams, and strong communication skills. This engineer reports directly to our Hardware Engineering Manager and is based in Herndon, Virginia.
Essential Responsibilities
- Work with team members to define, design, document, test, and production release PCBA level solution, incorporating both analog and digital technologies. This would include:
- Schematic Entry
- Component selection
- PCB Layout
- Documentation release
- Work with Software and Firmware engineers to define requirements and interfaces.
- Work with team members to define, design, document, test, and production release cabling harness designs
- Work with Manufacturing Engineering and Contract Manufacturer(s) to successfully build and test said designs
- Work with other team members to learn about the operation of the overall product
- Prepare and release production documentation.
Key Attributes:
- Experience with standard electronics lab test equipment
- Ability to think analytically
- Strong technical skills and the ability to learn new information quickly.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
- BSEE or equivalent. Advanced degree preferred.
- One to three years of direct experience designing PCBA’s (relevant internships included)
- Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
U.S. Person or Permanent Residency status required.
