We are looking for a dynamic Sr. Data Scientist to help take our business intelligence efforts to the next level as we launch the world’s premier virtual reality platform. This person will have considerable experience using data to influence business decisions by teasing patterns out of structured data sets and making that data tell a compelling story. This is a hands-on technical role. The right candidate will not only be an SQL expert (of course), but will also have hands-on experience with scripting using statistical analysis software and training machine learning models. Most importantly, they will take pride in acquiring a deep working knowledge of our products and databases and making Linden a truly data-driven organization.

What You'll Do

  • Analyze the impact of product changes on high-visibility Key Performance Indicators, such as user acquisition and retention.
  • Build a machine learning model to recommend new experiences to users based on their activity on our platform.
  • Develop fraud detection algorithms to identify carding, account takeovers, and other forms of fraudulent user behavior
  • Apply emerging natural language processing tools and image detection to identify opportunities to improve and understand the user experience.
  • Catalog our vast array of user generated content to improve search, product recommendations, etc.
  • Acquire the data and prepare a working model to track demand for our products’ industry-unique, exchangeable virtual currencies.
  • Develop key metrics for viewer and simulator performance to monitor and track availability and stability of our VR platform.
  • Analytics Development- Perform detailed analysis to support the planning and impact assessment for company initiatives.
  • Presentation – Deliver results of your analyses to stakeholders throughout the company.
  • Senior Report Development – Turn your ad hoc analysis into robust, ongoing, accurate reports to track analysis results over time when desired. We don’t just make one-off, pretty charts around here.
  • Lead or participate in design reviews of new reports, dashboards, or analyses by other members of the team.
  • Warehouse Design: Work with the Operations and Engineering teams to ensure that the reporting warehouse design is evolved in a way that supports the analytics requirements of the business.
  • Mentor other members of the business intelligence team.  Pitch in on data warehouse development and support initiatives by designing new data models, helping to track down sources of data anomalies, etc.

What You'll Need

  • 5+ years experience developing technical analyses and presenting results to an executive-level audience.
  • 5+ years experience working extensively with SQL, Python, R, SAS, and machine learning tools
  • Experience working in a Unix environment, preferably with Amazon or Google cloud services.
  • Keen interest in understanding business issues through detailed information analysis.  We have some of the most interesting and diverse analytical problems you’ll experience during your career.
