Head of Department – Learning and Teaching

Lincoln University is seeking to appoint a Head of Department – Learning and Teaching.   We are looking for a motivated, innovative and enthusiastic academic leader who can drive technology enhanced learning, blended and online delivery, curriculum and learning design across our three Faculties and the Division of University Studies and English Language.

This is an academic appointment and we are looking to employ someone at the senior lecturer or associate professor level.  You will have a PhD, currently undertaking research in the field of learning and teaching and be recognised as having a strong expertise in higher education.

The successful applicant will have a position on Lincoln University’s Academic Board and its Learning and Teaching Sub Committee.  The Learning and Teaching Sub Committee is the peak body for the strategic development and effective policy, procedures and governance of the University’s Learning and Teaching environment. 

As the Head of Department - Learning and Teaching you will be responsible for leading a team of educational designers and a team of learning advisers (approximately 11 FTE).  You will work closely with department heads and programme managers across the Faculties and you will form vital partnerships with a range of administrative areas and the Lincoln University Student Association.  The Learning and Teaching Department sits within the Division of Library, Teaching and Learning (LTL).  The Head of Department - Learning and Teaching is a vital member of the
management team of LTL.
