SUMMARY:

 

Plan, implement, and communicate company compensation, benefit and wellness programs, policies and procedures.

Communicate and execute our company's compensation, benefit, and wellness programs. Primary responsibilities will revolve around administering and communicating these programs and policies across the organization. This role requires a keen understanding of compensation structures, benefits administration, and wellness initiatives.

WAGE TYPE: Salaried Exempt, FLSA Exemption: Administrative Exemption.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administers benefit programs including interpreting benefit plan provisions, advising people regarding their benefit coverage, and working directly with plan carriers in resolving insurance claim issues and settling disputes, filing documents and reports in compliance with regulatory requirements, etc.
  • Administers company’s 401(k) plan including responding to employee inquiries; coordinating new employee eligibility, investment advisor and non-participant meetings and financial management meetings/workshops; filing documents and reports in compliance with regulatory requirements, etc.
  • Serve as primary LOA and FMLA coordinator for the company. 
  • Strong working knowledge of FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, COBRA, ERISA, 401(k) and Roth 401(k) programs.
  • Responsible for ensuring programs meet people's needs, comply with legal requirements, and are cost-effective.
  • Responsible for implementation, administration, and communication of benefit plans.
  • Organize and lead new hire and annual benefit enrollment, including planning, and updating annual benefits summary, Vista HRMS, and benefit plan design.
  • Responsible for provider notifications (i.e. carrier connection feeds, general census imports, remittance files, etc.).
  • Work with health & welfare brokers and serve as an active member on the benefits committee.
  • Design presentations on benefit programs and coordinate communication efforts.
  • Ensure the benefit programs enhance the organization's ability to recruit and retain people.
  • Responsible for benefit funding, billing, and data management.
  • Serves as a resource to people for claim or general insurance and benefit questions.
  • Works in conjunction with Leaders and the Selection team in job evaluation process.
  • Responsible for reviewing programs, suggesting modifications, and ensuring achievement of competitive market position and other goals identified by the organization.
  • Salary Administration Process – coordinates efforts between performance management and People Resources to plan for performance and merit increases for technical and administrative positions.
  • Responsible for updating and maintaining all compensation-related information in HRIS.
  • Responsible for annual benchmarking and salary targets for exempt and nonexempt salaried jobs using an online salary market system.
  • Support all cultural and communication initiatives.
  • Could potentially come in contact with hazardous chemicals.

  • Proper disposal of waste such as recyclables, standard waste, hazardous waste, etc. is expected.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.  Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be substituted for the expected levels of education and experience

required.

 

 

 

Education and/or Experience:

Expected: bachelor’s degree in business, Human Resources, or related field with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in human resources-related field.             

 

Preferred:  Human resources degree, PHR or SPHR certification.  Benefits administration experience preferred.
