Specialty Sales Representative

The Specialty Sales Representative is responsible for demonstrating effective and consistent coverage of a local territory, and implementing tactics as defined by the approved marketing and sales plans. The representative delivers sales presentations and executes pull through programs/events to a defined list of ENTs, Plastic Surgeons, and other relevant customers in order to achieve and exceed sales goals. 

This role must demonstrate a strong understanding of necessary therapeutic areas, specifically the topical local anesthetic market, and possess a solid ability to communicate technical, scientific, and product information to customers, while cultivating and maintaining physician relationships.

The representative will provide the most current information pertaining to Lannett products and their approved indications in a manner which will ensure the appropriate use of products and achieve the business potential of the territory.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Professionally promote Lannett’s products to healthcare professionals
  • Demonstrate a superior level of competency in product, procedure, and competitive knowledge as it relates to Lannett’s products
  • Deliver internal presentations to review and communicate territory plans, routing, strategies, opportunities, and recommendations for heightened performance and market traction
  • Be able to analyze a territory and generate a plan of action in order to achieve sales goals given available resources
  • Achieve sales growth in territory
  • Must be able to routinely perform overnight travel in order to maximize coverage within locally designated territory; attend training sessions, meetings, and conventions if necessary
  • Cultivates relationships with KOLs; builds lasting relationships with priority doctors
  • Demonstrate consultative selling with assessment of target physicians’ needs; address needs of address audience with responsive approach, skills, and resources
  • Administration of territory information and compliance to reporting and regulatory requirements
  • Execute priorities and action plans communicated by District Business Managers  
  • The representative will also comply with required reports and requests, and participate in trainings, conference calls and off-site meetings as needed.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Demonstrated business acumen
  • Proficiency analyzing sales data and utilizing sales force automation software
  • Minimum 5 years of progressively effective relevant sales experience in the pharmaceutical field
  • Previous experience in anesthetic markets, hospital or surgical center sales is preferred
  • Buy and bill selling experience to be considered
  • Strong track record for attaining and exceeding sales goals
  • Motivation for sales achievement, enhancement of presentation skills, and self-development
  • Demonstrated successful sales performance and longevity in previous sales roles
  • Proficient in influence and negotiation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to learn, apply and communicate technical/scientific knowledge 
  • Must have valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Completion of Pre-Employment Screen
  • Professional certification given by the company on grounds of passing required new hire training exams
