Job Title:          Windows/SAN/Virtualization System Administrator

 

Reports to:    Manager, IT Infrastructure

Department:  Information Systems

 

Summary : Responsible for planning, engineering, implementation, analysis, maintenance, upgrade and support of a standardized, virtualized environment. This includes Windows systems, storage systems and backup systems in terms of functioning, upgrading, troubleshooting, configuration and security settings, as well as ensuring the integrity of the backup data and replication. This will require supporting the day-to-day operations of an enterprise data center environment.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

  • Design, configuration and troubleshooting of MS Active Directory networks and systems
  • Design, configuration and troubleshooting of MS Active Directory networks and systems
  • Design, configuration and troubleshooting of storage infrastructure including replication and DFS shares
  • Manage Backup system and ensure integrity of the data, de-duplication methods and replication of data to multiple sites
  • Helps analyze business requirements to plan IT systems that will provide system capabilities required for projected workloads, and plans layout and installation of new system or modification of existing system
  • Maintain and support file system integrity, disk utilization, hardware, operating system, microcode levels, security, error logs, maintenance and security patches, antivirus, microcode updates and service packs on all systems.
  • Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Configure CPU, memory and storage requirements as needed
  • OS Level application support.
  • Making recommendations to management for operational improvements, including appropriate cost/benefit analysis.
  • Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, storage, settings, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements
  • Identifies and repairs problems with system hardware and operating software.
  • Managing and reporting against all technology related projects under their direct responsibility .
  • Oversee all necessary upgrades and additional functionality installations to the IT environment.
  • Mentorship- provide mentorship to/ and between team members
  • Writes procedures and practices .
  • Oversee creation and maintenance of all user profiles, roles and system security.
  • Assisting IS management with the implementation and monitoring of management information systems policies and controls to ensure data accuracy, security, and legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintaining an effective level of System Administration proficiency and knowledge to ensure the Lannett IT systems operate in accordance with Best Operational Practices.
  • 2nd/3rd level support for resolving escalated system/user/PC issues.
  • Follow all Lannett IT policies including change control management procedures
  • Document all system builds/changes/procedures’/etc.
  • Capacity planning

Qualifications:

  • College degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of MS Windows system administration experience
  • 3+ years of VMWare administration experience
  • 4+ years of Active Directory experience
  • 3+ years of Storage Area Network experience
  • 4+ years of Basic Networking-TCP/IP configuration/administration skills
  • 4+ years of MS Exchange administration
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent documentation skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work as an individual contributor as well as in a team environment
  • Excellent “customer” relation skills
