Business Development Manager:

This position is a key member of the organization’s business development function.   This position will have overall responsibility for the management, oversight, identification, and evaluation of the business development opportunities.  The position requires working closely with various business units and corporate functions.


  • Knowledge management and competitive intelligence gathering to support the identification of new business development opportunities to strengthen our product portfolio and drive value for the corporation.
  • Manage and analyze the market intelligence data to ensure market opportunities are capitalized on as they occur and minimize the effects of competitive activity.
  • Prepare business case and create various management approval decks for acquisition and distribution cases
  • Assist in oversight and evaluation of business development opportunities including, but not limited to acquisitions, divestures, licensing agreements.
  • Support team in discussions regarding business development opportunities
  • Develop and run the various financial and valuation models required for the financial assessment of Business Development projects
  • Develop term sheets, deal structures, negotiation positions and strategies
  • Create presentations on Licensing opportunities for U.S. Senior Management review and approval
  • Coordinate contract input from other functional areas e.g. Quality, SCM, Sales, etc.
  • Develop and implement business plans to support short and intermediate term growth (1-3 years)
  • Assist in the organizations strategic planning documentation and coordination to ensure alignment with growth strategies



  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the generic pharmaceutical industry, preferably in a business development role
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong financial background, with an understanding of modeling and finance
  • Ability to make independent decisions
  • 10 – 20% of time for travel
