Financial Analyst-FP&A

The Financial Analyst – FP&A position at Lands’ End will be responsible for various financial and analytical responsibilities providing Senior leadership guidance on financial expectations through predictive analytics, strategic planning, and external reporting. Primary responsibilities are achieving the Financial Planning and Analysis group’s vision and objectives related to strategic and annual planning, business analysis supporting monthly forecasting, and external messaging and reporting.  Additional responsibilities include completion of value added ad hoc analytics, leveraging systems, and continuous improvement projects.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic and Annual Planning
    • Be a proactive business partner, providing value added analysis and a communication channel between assigned business functions and finance
    • Identify trends and provide recommendations supporting Senior Leadership reviews
    • Build and maintain forecasting models for expense planning activities
    • Analysis of investments including both period expenses and capital projects to identify productivity and efficiency opportunities
    • Review and maintain business processes and reporting modules supporting Senior Leadership planning requirements
    • Provide ad hoc analytical support as required

 

  • Corporate Reporting
    • Prepare key communications to senior management
    • Preparation of monthly and quarterly reporting
    • Identify trends and provide recommendations supporting Senior Leadership reviews
    • Prepare analyses and reporting in support of quarterly earnings announcements
    • Provide ad hoc analytical support as required

 

  • Business unit and Operations Partner
    • Liaison between corporate FP&A and Business Finance regarding key deliverables for monthly forecasting and annual planning
    • Continuous improvement mindset driving productivity in business processes and value added predictive analytics
    • Provide ad hoc analytical support as required

 

  • Financial Systems Administration
    • Administration of financial reporting and management infrastructure including Hyperion Planning as well as other systems
    • Develop additional opportunities to further leverage systems and streamline business processes

 

Skill Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in related area (Accounting, Finance, etc.)
  2. Understanding of financial concepts including budgeting and forecasting processes 
  3. Ability to interpret financial statements, analyze results, and identify key
    issues
  4. Intermediate financial modeling skills (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
  5. Computer literacy, including MS Office suite, and the ability to adapt and learn new applications and processes
  6. Strong communication skills – both verbal and written
  7. Intellectual curiosity
  8. Team player with strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
