Government Relations Advisor

King & Spalding, a leading global law firm, seeks a Government Relations Advisor to join the Washington, D.C. office.

Candidates will have the following responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain relationships with governments, trade associations, industry coalitions, public services, and other authorities to influence policies and positions.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on government policy and legislation.
  • Have experience developing policies and political strategies involving underrepresented groups and interacting with such groups and organizations
  • Educate business leaders about the need for developing strategies of inclusion for all political and social groups involved in policy making
  • Identify strategic partnerships and strategic communications with business leaders.
  • Develop and implement government relations initiatives.
  • Utilize specialized knowledge and skills to enhance partnerships demonstrated through strong programs and policy outcomes.
  • Active involvement with communities in the local, state and federal space.

Successful candidates have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook). 

Successful candidates are skilled in public policy and/or human resources with prior experience with the Federal Government.

Education and experience required:

Undergraduate degree required; graduate degree preferred.  Must have at least ten years’ relevant experience.
