Our Engineering team solves our customers most difficult problems in areas such as wearable technology, eye surgery, water filtration, blood analysis and man-machine interfaces just to name a few.

Kaleidoscope is looking for an Engineering Manager that leads and  manages a team to develop superior design solutions, while also facilitating the growth and development of the team.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor and manage a team of Design Engineers
  • Foster growth and development of direct reports by facilitating teamwork, identifying opportunities to create new processes and collaborating with colleagues at all levels
  • Partner with the Director of Engineering to develop the strategy, vision for the department & implementation of the corporate strategy
  • Lead brainstorming and research activities
  • Moderate and lead client meetings
  • Advocate for engineering/Kaleidoscope and user needs in a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Partner with Director of Engineering to allocate and manage department resources for the purpose of completing projects and workload
  • Oversee the design, development and execution of a wide range of project work
  • Clearly articulate design approach and rationale behind proposed design solutions
  • Select and manage external vendors
  • Ensure client expectations are met, in collaboration with the Project Manager
  • Develop and deliver client proposals and capabilities presentations
  • Serve an active role in growing the client base as an ambassador of the company
  • Knowledge and skills at a level normally acquired through the completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related fields required; Advanced degree preferred
  • 10+ years of professional experience in New Product Development
  • Strong understanding of latest digital tools: 3D modeling; SolidWorks, ProE, NX, Modeling tools; ANSYS, Mathcad
  • Consistent ability to provide innovative solutions (think out of the box), Surprise and Delight
  • Strong understanding and application of the laws of physics
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate design concepts by a variety of means: ideas in 2D and 3D form, graphs, diagrams appropriately to a specific purpose, at a high level of professionalism
  • Deep engineering design experience: understanding of materials, tooling, analysis, processes and assembly
  • Deep knowledge of DFM, DFT, DFQ
  • Proven experience building and fostering growth and development of an engineering team
