Senior Contract Specialist

Jefferson Solutions, the well-respected government consulting company of the Jefferson Consulting Group, a woman-owned small business, is looking for several Senior Contracting Specialists to support work with the Forest Service.

You will be responsible for supporting a variety of pre-award, award, and post-award contract actions virtually. You will provide acquisition support services to the Forest Service (FS) Contracting Officer (or their designee) that mitigates business risks, results in the best business value for the FS and meets the applicable regulatory, references, information resources, and agency processes. Actions cover a broad spectrum of contract actions including simplified acquisition to complex multi-award, multi-million-dollar contracts. Your role will be to work as part of a team soliciting, evaluating, negotiating, and awarding contracts with a variety of public and private entities for services, products, construction, or research/development required by the agency. Working seamlessly with the Contracting Officer, you will support a broad range of new or existing contract actions for services, supplies, equipment, professional/technical/advisory and assistance services, information technology, research and development, fire and aviation, and stewardship. Procurement support services may be cradle to grave and will cover a variety of tasks.

You will perform acquisition planning, source selection, and requirements development. You will draft justifications and evaluation criteria, receive and review proposals/quotes, request technical reviews, perform cost/price analysis, evaluate information for awards, draft recommendations for award and develop award documents for contracts and task/delivery orders related to a variety of contract vehicles.

 Perform contract administration such as preparing modifications, reviewing invoices, assisting with quality assurance, recommending solutions to issues to the CO and completing timely contract closeout actions. You may recommend approval or disapproval of progress payments.

 

Document all actions in appropriate electronic systems. You must be proficient in the use of multiple electronic systems that support the acquisition process.

 

Facilitate meetings, communication and collaboration with customers and other stakeholders, with a focus on virtual communication tools like teleconferences and skype or “teams” meetings.

This contracting office requires focused attention to customers’ needs with an emphasis on quality. As a Senior-level Contracting Specialist, you may be responsible for mentoring and overseeing the work of Mid-level Contracting Specialists who are also part of the team.

To be considered for this role, you must possess:

  • 10-20 years of federal acquisition experience.
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree.

Also, we are seeking individuals who have:

  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, writing and analytical skills to effectively interact with program and contracting officials.
  • Attention to detail and record-keeping, high standards of excellence and commitment to perform and execute all project activities successfully.
  • Have prior training in contracting, such as FAC-C and DAWIA (preferred but not required)

You must also be able to pass a background investigation and favorable fitness/suitability determination.
