Principal Architect – Devops & Platform for Digital Cloud Platform In a continuous effort redefining how software is developed, deployed, and maintained, we are looking for an experienced, hands-on Devops & platform Architect with cloud native experience to join our Digital Platform Architecture team and lead the cloud platform architecture of JCPenney.com. In this role, you will provide thought leadership around platform architecture, site availability, performance, scalability, and observability by bridging the realms of integration, deployment and operations. You will collaborate with engineering in leading initiatives that automate, optimize, and revolutionize our processes in a dynamic environment. You will help create a seamless and agile software delivery lifecycle, setting standards along the way and be the driving force behind our DevOps evolution which will play a pivotal role in our growth and success. DevOps Architect Duties & Responsibilities:
• Drive various Digital Platform architecture components of JCP.com - AWS (Amazon Web Services) cloud and java & python stacks.
• Collaborate with Engineering & Architecture teams to develop and implement a DevOps strategy for the enterprise, adopt common solutions, self service capabilities and streamline code releases & assist Engineering teams to rapidly troubleshoot issues.
• Stay current on DevOps trends, integrate innovations into organization processes, provide technical guidance, promote best practices, tools, and technologies for cloud platforms.
• Design Self-service CI/CD pipelines to automate and optimize software deployment, evaluate the implementation to ensure it follows standards and governance.
• Lead the service mesh implementation for our digital platform
• Ensure infrastructure scalability, security, and performance through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and provide cost optimization solutions, including measurement of the outcomes.
• Provide thought leadership in defining roadmaps and direction for Java and Python Platform frameworks, observability pipeline for the cloud native apps in digital.
• Lead training and workshops on DevOps best practices and toolsets for internal teams. Core Competencies & Accomplishments:
• Expert experience building high-performing, heavy-traffic sites on a distributed cloud platform.
• Experience in cost-effective solutions & designing self-service clouds platforms, build & deployment pipelines, container orchestration frameworks and Service mesh
• Experience in SAAS, PAAS, IAAS, Cloud networking, Security, Content Delivery Network Platforms, RDS, NoSql
• Strong cloud native experience with application architecture knowledge using Java, Python, Spring boot, SpringCloud frameworks, Restful API concepts and API Security frameworks
• Ability to review and provide feedback in code reviews.

• Familiarity with Data Structures, Algorithms, and general Computer Science Fundamentals Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent work experience
