Position at Pilgrim's

Veterinarian

 

Purpose & Scope:  This position will have direct veterinary responsibility for multiple Pilgrim’s complexes, working with live management in all areas (pullets/breeders, hatchery, broiler grow out, and plant), satisfying regulatory health requirements, ensuring implementation and compliance with company programs, and contributing to the Pilgrim’s Veterinary Services team.                                                                                                              

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Direct contact for bird health, animal welfare, and biosecurity in multiple Pilgrim’s complexes
  • Responsible for maintaining regulatory compliance related to VFDs, Rx, NPIP and USDA health/export certificates
  • Training and education of live team personnel
  • Contribution to Pilgrim’s vet team efforts on group projects, trials, etc.

Travel:

  • Travel required to assigned complexes
  • Additional travel to live meetings, continuing education conferences, etc.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • DVM or equivalent
  • Post doctorate training program in poultry medicine preferred
  • ACPV diplomate preferred
  • Veterinary license and federal accreditation with ability to be licensed in multiple states preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Microsoft Office suite competency
