Title: Case Ready Production Superintendent 

Purpose & Scope: To ensure the safe and efficient day to day operations within specific a specific production department in a Case Ready production facility


Principle Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all operations management understand and model the behaviors embodied in JBS Values.
  • Work to ensure the safety of all employees and all product produced by the plant on a daily basis by ensuring that all company policies are understood and adhered to at all times by the operations team.
  • Keep the customer top of mind at all times.
  • Understand the key drivers of a successful case ready operation to include: Safety, Quality, Efficiency, Yields, Labor, Cost and People
  • Provide daily production direction to ensure the plant achieves production goals and quality/food safety promises to customers.
  • As a key member of the plant leadership team, establish daily, weekly, monthly & yearly performance objectives and measurements and ensure that they are reviewed with the team on a regular basis and action plans are established when objectives aren’t met.
  • Work with the QA department to establish product specifications to meet customers’ needs and make sure that all employees are trained to and meet those specifications.
  • Make sure that staffing levels are appropriate at all times to meet customer needs, while at the same time achieving labor cost goals.
  • Work with the Human Resources team to manage employee relations within the operations function to establish effective performance management and minimize turnover.
  • Partner with the plant and corporate scheduling function to ensure that raw materials are available to meet customer’s needs and to ensure that production schedules (flow, process, staffing, and layout) meet customer needs.
  • Continually review production processes to reinforce a culture of continuous improvement within the facility.
  • Work closely with the plant maintenance manager to ensure proper preventative maintenance and reliability of all assets within the operations area.
  • Achieve all production goals as set forth by the facility general manager.


Working Conditions:

  • Physical demands of this position include a great deal of walking.
  • Potential hazards in work area may include knives, saws, ammonia, and hot water.
  • Work area has many slippery floors and will contain a high level of noise.
  • Temperature in work area will be fairly cold to insure the quality and consistency of product.
  • Employee will typically work 55-60 hours per week M-F with Saturday work if necessary.



  • Minimum High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • College experience beneficial

Experience: Minimum 5 years background experience in a meat production environment

Special Skills:

  • Adequate Computer skills to accomplish daily tasks
  • Ability to read production reports
  • Knowledge of all operations within the plant
  • Management training
  • Interpersonal communication skills
  • Math skills


Internal: Both verbal and written communication with all areas of the plant as well as various corporate officials.          

External: Verbal and written communication with various customers on various projects or complaints.
