POSITION SUMMARY:
The Field Service Representative is responsible for working with contract broiler growers to obtain maximum quality and optimal production costs. Responsible for maintaining a working relationship with broiler growers to insure production of high-quality broilers to the processing plant.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Directs contract growers in poultry husbandry according to Pilgrim’s procedures and Broiler Grower Agreement, maintaining a good working relationship and optimal performance to meet or exceed goals. Enforces Bio-Security Requirements with contract growers. Manages grower complaints and issues in a diplomatic manner.
- Responsible for locating, diagnosing, and responding to production, performance, and bird health problems along with weekly or more frequent visits to buildings. Collects relevant production data. Holds periodic visits to the processing plant.
- Effectively communicates with accounting, scheduling, hatchery, feed mill, live haul, processing plant and breeder personnel to attain high quality broiler production. Maintains effective communication between contract growers and Pilgrim’s to promote the best interest of the company.
- Responsible for reviewing grower production cost and bird performance on a flock-to-flock basis.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Bachelor’s Degree required in Agriculture, Animal Science or Business
- 2 years relevant/ equivalent experience.
- Must have valid Class C driver’s license and safe driving record.
- Ability to work in dusty working conditions.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Excellent organization and time management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good computer skills including experience in Microsoft Word and Excel.
