Financial Reporting Accountant II

 

 

Purpose and Scope/General Summary: We are looking for a Financial Reporting Accountant II to join us at our Corporate office in Greeley, CO. This role reports to the BU Controller for the JBS Regional Beef business unit. There is close interaction with several departments at the corporate office including Corporate Accounting, Sales, Pricing, Cattle Procurement and Operations. This position also works closely with team members at our plant locations to ensure that our reporting is timely and accurate. The desired candidate must have strong analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. This role is responsible for a variety of high-visibility and high-impact reports and is a great opportunity for the right person to launch a long-term career with JBS.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee distribution of daily, weekly, and monthly reporting used to drive the business
  • Oversight of the month-end close process including preparation journal entries and review of the financials of our production plants for accuracy and completeness
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • SOX internal control compliance monitoring and standardization
  • Assist in preparation and reporting of annual budgeting process
  • Collaborate with Regional Beef plant controllers to improve financial metrics and processes
  • General ledger reporting, review, and analysis
  • Annual government reporting and quarterly audit requirements
  • Ad hoc projects and analysis with a focus on process improvement and automation
  • Implement new technology where needed to improve processes and the quality of information
  • Take lead on identifying areas where further analysis can improve performance and financial results
  • Be able to clearly communicate with leadership and peers on complex issues specific to the industry
  • Other analysis and project management to support the Regional Beef team
  • Other duties assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • SOX Compliance experience preferred
  • 2+ years’ experience in analytic or accounting role strongly preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and acute attention to details
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced skills in Excel required
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and ask questions as needed
  • Meat industry experience is a major plus
  • Experience with Qlik Sense, SAP BPC, and SAP Business Objects is desired
  • Can perform the functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation

The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:

  • Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;
  • Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;
  • 401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule;
  • Base salary range of $75,000-$95,000; and
  • Incentive Pay: This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program;

This compensation range is specific to the State of Colorado and takes into account various factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to a candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiencies for the role.
