The Lead directs hourly Team Members to meet goals related to production schedules, food safety/quality, and workplace safety. As a member of management, the Production Lead will be required to achieve department and facility objectives; and must be able to direct, train, coach and counsel other Team Members in accordance with company policy and procedure. Responsible for enforcing company work rules and policies including the effective recommendation of the discipline for employees.  
 
 

 
Description
JOB SUMMARY: 
  
Performs activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for processes, materials, and products. Analyzes process reports and troubleshoots problems to correct quality issues. 
  
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: 
  
1.       Conducts quality assurance testing on products and raw materials on the plant floor. 
a.       Utilizes and/or adapts inspection equipment to meet quality control standards, make suggestions about procedures, standards and equipment to facilitate work and maintain product quality. 
b.       Investigate and determine cause of faulty work and consult and advise production supervisors as to corrective measures. 
c.        Ensures that sell-by and production dates are correct on product runs. 
d.       Analyze facts or circumstances surrounding individual problems to determine what action should be taken within the limits of standard practices. 
e.        Measuring and testing product and tabulating data concerning materials, product, or process quality and reliability. 
2.       May assume other duties as assigned. 
QUALIFICATIONS: 
§  High School Diploma or equivalent certification 
§  Experience in food manufacturing quality control preferred 
§  Ability to speak, read, and write English 
§  Good verbal and written communication skills 
§  Bilingual (Spanish) preferred 
§  Good math skills 
§  Must be well-organized with good attention to detail 
§  Display strong work ethic and positive attitude 
§  Adaptable and dependable with ability to follow direction and work cooperation with others 
§  Must maintain a helpful and professional attitude and appearance 
§  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved, instructions and to deal with problems involving a few different variables. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
 
ACTIVITIES: 
  
Manufacturing work on the plant floor, standing or sitting for long hours, bending, stooping, and lifting. 
  
HEARING: 
  
Must be able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information, sometimes with loud background noise. 
  
REPETITIVE MOTION: 
  
Must be able to frequently and regularly use wrists, hands, and or fingers. 
  
VISUAL ABILITIES: 
  
Average, ordinary visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents, products, or operate machinery. 
  
PHYSICAL STRENGTH: 
  
Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds throughout the day. 
  
WORKING CONDITIONS: 
  
Must be able to work for long hours in a no-kill food processing environment, where it is wet, damp, and cold.  Temperatures are frequently below freezing, and employees are expected to remain in these conditions for most of their work days.
