Pilgrim’s wants YOU to join our TEAM as a Live Operations Utility Team Member. The starting wage range for this position is: $23.85/Hour to $28.60/Hour.  Position would be eligible for a $5000 Driver New Hire Bonus, if you hold a current CLASS A CDL!!

  • M1 – If do not hold Class A CDL and do not have 1 year of Truck Maintenance Experience for Certification, Starting wage: $23.85/Hour.
  • M2If EITHER DOT Certified for Inspections (1 Year of Truck Maintenance Experience Required for Certification) OR possess a Class A Driver’s License AND be eligible to be a driver per Company Policy, Starting wage: $25.75/Hour
  • M3If BOTH DOT Certified for Inspection (1 Year of Truck Maintenance Experience Required for Certification) AND possess a Class A Driver’s license AND be eligible to drive per Company Policy, Starting wage: $28.60/Hour

POSITION SUMMARY: 

Position is responsible for transporting chickens/equipment from grower sites to the Processing Plant, as well as working in the truck shop performing repair and maintenance on company vehicles and equipment.  This position may also include filling in for other departments within live operations in a driving capacity. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Drives live haul tractor/trailer to grower sites and operates forklift or coordinator duties at contract grower location while truck is being loaded. Provide truck shop duties performing repairs or maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
  • Drives feed delivery semi-tractor to grower barns.
  • Drives Bedding semi-tractor to bedding supplier and then to grower barns. Also, may need to load the bedding trailer from the bedding shed with the use of a telescopic loader.
  • Loads and unloads chicks and/or egg racks onto the trailer and into the hatchery and barns completing all necessary reports.
  • Cleans pellet mill particle separators and other areas of the feed mill as needed.
  • Conducts pre-trip and post-trip inspections in accordance with divisional guidelines and DOT requirements.
  • Operates and maintains equipment in a safe and efficient manner, keeping trucks and work areas neat, clean, and orderly.
  • Communicates with team members and leadership regarding all relevant information.
  • Ability to be on call for emergency feed deliveries and feed outages when needed.
  • Observe & enforce all company personnel, quality, safety, and food safety policies.
  • Maintains a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you work effectively and cooperatively with customers, clients, coworkers, and leadership teams.
  • Participates in process improvement and problem solving utilizing continuous improvement and rational thinking methodologies.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Valid Class A CDL with acceptable driving record per Company policy or willing to obtain.
  • High School Diploma or GED with at least one year driving experience preferred.
  • Ability to compute percentages and fractions.
  • Forklift license, willing to obtain. Experience preferred.
  • Ability to perform light maintenance on equipment.
  • Ability to work in dusty work environment.
  • Ability to operate telescopic loader safely and efficiently.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English required.
