Essential Functions:

  • Apply and Settle grain purchased from farmers and other commercial grain dealers.
  • Daily monitoring of on hold tickets and contract reports and ticket sequences.
  • Process sales settlements.
  • Track and keep a file of customer liens and lien information up to date in Agris System.
  • Hand enter tickets from satellite facilities.
  • Keep POA/signature database up to date for the state of Iowa.
  • Pay any check-off and certain other grain department related bills.
  • Responsible for paying grain freight charges.
  • Keep tickets, contracts, credit sales etc. filed and up to date for state auditors.
  • Settlements for daily grain usage across multiple feed mills.
  • Provide requested information to State, and internal auditors for yearly audits.
  • Other duties as needed.
 
Education and Experience:
  • Experience working at a very high level of accuracy and timeliness.
  • Experience working in an accounting function or related data entry and data management experience is required.
  • Agribusiness experience is beneficial.
  • 2 years or more of related experience preferred.

  • Experience working at a very high level of accuracy and timeliness.
  • Maturity, self-confidence, and strong communication skills will be important in this role.  This position will manage and work with many internal customers, grain producers, and the public.
  • Ability to recognize where follow-up is needed to resolve open items.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite or similar software.
  • Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
  • May involve working in an office as well as interacting with employees in their work locations through the company as required.
Working Conditions/Environment:
  • General climate-controlled office environment.        
  • Temperature at works sites will vary depending upon season and location.
  • Exposure to various elements inherent with Agriculture production.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
