Human Resources Director  (Resume required for this position) 
General Description: Lead initiatives for the HR, Safety, Employment, Health Services, and Training Departments.  This position is responsible for leading a culture that promotes employee engagement to reduce our absenteeism and turnover.    
    
Principle Responsibilities:   
  • Coordinate the administration of training, employee relations, recruiting, labor relations, recruiting, compliance and payroll.  Direct and advise management of departments in order to promote efficient, productive programs
  • Provide direction and support to management staff
  • Direct employment activities, assuring that properly qualified employees are hired and trained for company positions
  • Work closely with General Manager to establish goals and objectives for plant employee relations, community relations, and policies and procedures
  • Coordinate and participate in plant management in disciplinary or termination proceedings
  • Develop and coordinate training programs, including team building, new employee orientation, management training, etc.
  • Apply company employee relations policies in all dealings with employees
  • Attend and schedule meetings as needed
  • Perform various other duties as needed 
  • Provides facility supervision with advice and counsel on personnel issues.
  • Administers unemployment claims, attends unemployment hearings.
  • Ensures regulatory compliance with ADA, FMLA, EEOC, etc. Stays current on recent federal, state and case law changes and monitors labor law updates for changes that affect HR.
  • Proposes, publishes and administers personnel policies.
  • Administers all employee relations issues. Processes and implements formal disciplinary action of employees, initiates termination procedures and terminates employees as needed.
  • Prepares and maintains records and procedures for controlling personnel transactions and reporting personnel data. Maintains HRIS integrity.
  • Responds to any questions and/or requests by governmental agencies, including employee complaints. Represents the company at hearings.
  • Establishes, evaluates and maintains departmental reports and key indicators. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed. 
  • Directs local benefits administration, enrollment and open enrollment meetings.
  • Supervises staff of HR and payroll employees.
  • Responsible for internal company communication, including bulletin boards, company newsletter, etc. 
  
    
Education: Preferred Minimum Bachelor’s degree in business, Human Resource, or related field.  Master’s degree preferred.  Equivalent combination of education and experience.   
Experience:    
  • 5 years of HR experience
  • Progressive management responsibilities in Industry/Business/Education
  • Previous experience in human resource
