Description:  Responsible for trade and consumer marketing of fresh pork programs.  Plays a key role in sales discussions and growth of customers and products.  Provides management and strategic direction to the pork marketing department.

                                                                                                                                                              

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Agriculture or related field
  • Minimum 8 years experience in marketing perishable meat or related industries
  • Understanding of swine and pork industries preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Outstanding presentation and phone skills
  • Exceptional planning and time management skills
  • Management experience preferred
  • 40+ hours per week
  • Must be able to travel
  • Microsoft Office applications with advanced skills in PowerPoint, Excel and Word

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees marketing budget including spending for assigned products and programs
  • Assists in creating and coordinating meaningful consumer brands including brand positioning and demand generation
  • Develops and gains approval to execute strategic business, marketing and innovation plans to achieve volume, sales dollars and margin
    • This includes forecasting Profit & Loss
  • Collaborates with Margin Management, R&D, Operations and Packaging to understand capabilities in order to grow current or implement new programs
    • This includes concept development, feasibility validation, product and packaging creation, recommendation proposal and approval, project execution, distribution goals, financial impacts, customer sell-in and tracking first 12-months of in-market performance
  • Works with Legal, Accounting and Sales on writing and implementing marketing agreements
  • Supports Sales on key meetings, presentations and industry events for customer sell-in process by creating critical sales materials and procurement of product samples
  • Manages customer reset and new item presentation timing against JBS launch
  • Gathers and analyzes data to identify insights that translate into business initiatives and actionable tasks to improve results
  • Supports branding and marketing activities through digital and social media
  • Directs agency partners as required to ensure effective and efficient translation of marketing strategies into activation plans
  • Coordinates with Technical Services and Corporate Communications to understand and communicate industry issues to Sales and customers
  • Communicates goal performance status and corrective actions monthly
  • Manages and provides direction to the team responsible for handling consumer affairs
  • Ability to work in cooperation with other JBS marketing teams
  • Provides creative training opportunities to further expand sales team industry and product knowledge
