Primal Specialist – Pork Processor Sales

 

 

Purpose and Scope/General Summary: The Primal Specialist in Processor Sales is responsible for managing sales, scheduling and pricing of a specific primal by working with customers, internal Corporate and production departments to maximize JBS profits.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with the plants to execute fresh/frozen sales and manage product availability.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of all aspects of the primal from plant to customer.
  • Provide pricing quotes and product availability to inside sales and external customers.
  • Understand the dynamics of the market to make informed decisions related to the pricing and sale of products.
  • Monitor the marketplace, understand the seasonality of the primal, the industry trends and pricing relative to that market.
  • Analyze the JBS sold position on products on a daily and weekly basis to maintain a position of market strength.
  • Collaborate with customers and plants to understand and resolve product yields, sales opportunities and quality issues.
  • Analyze on a weekly and annual basis the mix of customers and sold products to determine adjustments needed to maximize margins.
  • Capture an understanding of internal cost models and expenses.
  • Concentrate on an in-depth understanding of the following customer information: Product Specifications, Credit Terms, Payment History, Service Requirements, Claims, Freight costs, Customer DSO etc.
  • Manage price negotiations
  • Amass knowledge of all pork product primals
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications: 

  • BS/BA degree preferred in Business Administration, Economics, Marketing, Sciences or Agricultural related fields.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Detail Oriented.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently but know when and how to ask questions.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Multi-tasking skills a must.
  • Must have excellent phone skills.
  • Must be team oriented as well as working independently.
  • Desire to work in corporate office environment.
  • Microsoft Office applications, including Excel PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Cisco Meating Place and SharePoint.

  • As a salaried position with the company, you may be required to travel at some point to other facilities, to attend Company events, or as a representative of the Company in other situations. The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:

  • Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;
  • Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;
  • 401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule;
  • Base salary range of $77,000 - $115,000; and
  • Incentive Pay: This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program;
