QA Team Lead

Description

You will be the hands-on QA guru and team lead for our cloud-centric enterprise backup and DR platform, with responsibility for all aspects of our product/service quality, including QA environment, coverage, tools, processes, reports, and test automation efforts.

Reporting to the Director of Technology, you will be instrumental in hiring, mentoring and leading our QA teams, with resources across US and EU. You will closely collaborate with our Engineering, Operations and Support teams to ensure all existing and new features are fit for purpose and ready to deploy, and meet our customers’ expectations.

We are operating a cloud-centric enterprise backup and DR platform with a global customer base, in a dynamic and fast moving market. Based in locations across US and EU, we build and operate our own multi-petabyte storage cloud. We have onshore and offshore development teams and write code in C++, C#, .NET, and JavaScript.

Job Duties:

  • Be an advocate of quality at all stages of development
  • Drive all QA efforts throughout and until the end of each release
  • Build a top-flight automated test system for regression testing, while keeping manual testing practices efficient
  • Identify, implement and manage test plans and test cases, with attention to positive/negative testing, edge cases, robustness, performance and scalability
  • Ensure full test coverage for our cloud-centric backup and DR platform, across multiple OS’s (e.g. Windows, Linux), filesystems, virtualization platforms (e.g. vSphere, Hyper-V), applications (e.g. MS Exchange, MS SQL Server) as well as our customer/partner-facing web portal, external APIs and internal tools
  • Clear and concise written, verbal communication
  • Help hire, mentor and lead our QA teams
  • Keeping manual and automated tests up to date with issues encountered by users after release
  • Continuously review and implement new, innovative QA practices.
Job or Project Requirements and Experience:

  • 10+ years of in-depth experience in QA leadership roles, incl. large-scale, cloud-based, B2B products
  • Strong focus on automation, with experience of both API level and UI level testing (e.g. Selenium)
  • Experience of working with and managing remote teams
  • Solid understanding of enterprise backup/restore and DR
  • Good programming skills in C++ / C# / .NET / Windows & Linux scripting
  • Experience of technologies such as HTML, XML, .NET, SQL Server
  • Working knowledge of Atlassian tools (JIRA, Bitbucket, Confluence, Bamboo)
  • Knowledge of cloud computing and cloud computing architectures
  • Solid systems administration skills and experience with Windows, Linux, vSphere, Hyper-V
  • Ability to roll up your sleeves and dig in, motivate and lead by example
