Corporate Accounting Manager

As the Corporate Accounting Manager, you will participate primarily in activities related to accounting for the Corporate entity and have exposure to several aspects of the financial reporting cycle. In addition, this position will have primary responsibility for the separate carve-out j2 Cloud financial statements required by our debt indenture.

Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Corporate Accounting Manager will be responsible for providing timely and accurate financial reporting and analysis ensuring financial integrity/accuracy and internal controls.

Job Duties:

  • Provide support in connection with footnotes within our annual and quarterly SEC filings
  • Preparation of quarterly carve-out j2 Cloud financial statements including all relevant footnote support
  • Assist in the preparation of the Company’s monthly, quarterly and annual internal and external financial reports, GAAP and Proforma, as needed
  • Assist in drafting MD&A, financial press releases and other reporting items for quarterly earnings conference calls, as needed
  • Prepare and manage business combination purchase accounting in coordination with the financial reporting group
  • Responsible for special projects as needed including the adoption of new accounting standards across the organization
  • Assist in the coordination of annual and quarterly review activities of external auditor requests
  • Support month end close procedures of the Corporate entity of j2 Global
  • Manage reconciliation of general ledger accounts, bank statements and investment reports
  • Manage intercompany accounts and associated reconciliations
  • Perform financial statement consolidation duties on a monthly basis
  • Support intersegmental accounting as necessary
  • Prepare monthly stock-based compensation and equity journal entries
  • Manage standard and specialized reports according to GAAP
  • Prepare a variety of journal entries in multiple currencies

Job Requirements and Experience:

This role requires an experienced, energetic person, with some experience in technical accounting and reporting background.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA required
  • 6+ years of public accounting or corporate reporting experience.
  • Big 4 or National CPA audit firm experience highly desired.
  • Knowledge of the SEC reporting process and current GAAP standards.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, work with little supervision and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including strong technical writing skills.
  • Solid time management skills; ability to handle multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.
  • Personable, positive and enthusiastic attitude with capability to deal effectively with people at all levels inside and outside of the organization and as part of a team.
  • Highly proficient in MS office applications: Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook; knowledge of Oracle a plus, but not required.
