Overview
We are creating cloud storage technology for a dynamic and fast moving market.  Based in London, we are growing rapidly both in terms of bringing in large numbers of new customers every month and providing new features to the platform.  We self-host our multi-petabyte storage cloud, optimizing our platform for the best possible throughput and cost/GB. Our customers trust us inherently with their data, therefore quality and user retention is key.

You will work from our offices in central London, right next to Paddington Station (easily reachable from public transportation).This role involves out of office hour support on call rota.  


What the role entails:
  • Maintain hundreds of databases across our multiple brands. Both small and very large > 2tb in size
  • Replication set up and maintenance
  • Advanced monitoring and capacity planning across the entire database estate
  • Database tuning at multiple levels from query level to hardware and OS Level
  • Automate all of the above

Required experience:
  • Database: Over 4 years’ experience in supporting MySQL databases version 5.x and above.
  • Working knowledge of Linux and windows operating systems, especially how they interact with MySQL databases
  • Scripting ability in Shell and Python
  • MySQL clustering and replication technologies
  • MySQL monitoring tools such as MEM,PMM or Nagios
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Experience with the following an advantage:

  • Powershell
  • MSSQL 2008 and above
  • AWS/Google Cloud services
  • RAIDS, File systems and networking
  • NoSQL
