Insurity’s Next Director, Data Analytics

We’re seeking a Director, Data Analytics to drive the growth and development of our cutting-edge data and analytics platform at Insurity. As the Director, you’ll lead talented data engineering teams, partner closely with product leadership and design solutions that drive both technical excellence and business impact. If you have expertise in data infrastructure, architecture, and big data platforms such as Snowflake and are excited about driving large-scale data initiatives, we want to hear from you!

What our Next Director, Data Analytics Will Do

  • Lead, inspire, coach, and mentor a high performing team of software and data engineers focused on building data and analytics products and solutions.
  • Shape the Future: Develop a long-term data architecture strategy aligned with the overall product vision, ensuring scalability, flexibility, and security.
  • Collaborate and Drive Strategy: Partner with product management to define and execute the technical roadmap for our data platforms.
  • Innovate: Champion modern data architecture principles and lead technology modernization efforts to keep us at the forefront of the industry.
  • Optimize and Improve: Implement best practices to optimize data infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and data quality across all systems.
  • Communicate effectively & regularly with team members, peers, and leaders
  • Define and execute enterprise data architecture strategy that is aligned with the organization business vision
  • Display strong thought leadership in pursuit of modern architecture principals and technology modernization
  • Ensure Quality: Design and implement a robust data testing strategy to maintain consistency and accuracy across our platforms.
  • Looks for opportunities to capitalize on technology advances through analysis of key industry and technology trends to assess potential impact on the enterprise
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive data testing strategy to ensure data quality and consistency

Who We Are Looking For

  • We are seeking a visionary leader who thrives in dynamic environments, with the ability to manage and grow data teams effectively.
  • Proven leadership of 5+ years in leadership roles, guiding teams in fast-paced, agile environments
  • Self-starter and quick learner with the ability to collaborate and work autonomously while managing multiple priorities
  • Deep data expertise with 10+ years of experience in data engineering
  • A focus on building and scaling cloud-based data platforms like Snowflake, Azure, or AWS. Familiarity with components like Lambda, Airflow, Spark, SageMaker, S3, etc.
  • Strategic execution with proven success in building and deploying large-scale data systems that solve real business problems, with hands-on experience in data governance, quality, & management
  • Innovative mentality with expertise in modern data analytics, integration, business intelligence, AI, and machine learning, with continuous success in improvement and tech modernization
  • Collaborative partner with experience working closely with product teams to build and deliver data-driven solutions
  • Coaching & Mentorship: A natural leader who is passionate about developing and growing engineering talent
  • Must have built and shipped data and analytical products; must be familiar with the latest cloud-based techniques and have a track record of deploying systems at scale to solve business problems
  • Data and analytics experience in insurance domain
  • Some travel required

We continuously analyze and update our salary ranges for our roles according to market trends to not only ensure our employees are paid fairly, but also help close gender, race, and disability wage gaps. Along with the benefits listed above, the salary range for this role is 130-170K commensurate with experience.
