Emerging Manufacturing Engineer

Insulectro, a well-established distributor of Printed Circuit Materials located in Lake Forest is currently seeking an Emerging Manufacturing Engineer. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated team player with a great attitude, a curious mind, and driver to get projects across the finish line. This is a exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team that is leading the way in the Printed Circuit Board (PCB) industry.

As an Emerging Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for the development of new processing techniques and troubleshooting support for current processes at PCB fabricators in North America. You will collaborate cross functionally with the Product Management group, FAE’s (Field Application Engineers) and PCB fabricators to take high level concepts or challenges from idea to prototype to implementation on the factory floor. This role with directly impact the Industrial 4.0 revolution that has begun to transform how PCB’s are built in North America today by overseeing projects from start to finish.


  • Optimize and support current PCB fabricator projects for process improvement
  • Generate and develop novel solutions using structured Design of Experiments (DOE’s)
  • Educate customers on lean manufacturing methodologies
  • Help design, implement, and support customers with industry 4.0 initiatives
  • Facilitate projects between different suppliers to Insulectro and fabricators
  • Take end to end ownership and deliver documentation for project completion
  • Audit customer facilities and drive the actionable outcomes
  • Ensure customer success by developing strong relationships with key individuals
  • Help support and develop current and new Insulectro product offerings
  • Keep track of any other new and emerging technologies in the PCB manufacturing workplace

Basic Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • 1-2 years in electronics manufacturing

Preferred Skills:

  • 3-5 Years of hands-on PCB or Surface Mount Technology (SMT) manufacturing experience
  • Portfolio of DOE’s, lean manufacturing projects or a six-sigma black belt
  • Demonstrated proficiencies of robotics and automation
  • Passion for innovation for the sake of innovation
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment without direct oversite
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Proficient in 1 programming language
  • Microsoft office suite of applications (Word, excel, PowerPoint)
