Role Summary:

Reporting to the VP, Product Management & Marketing of the Waukesha Engines business unit, the Director Strategic Marketing will lead a team of professionals to provide best in class support for all existing and evolving products and services for the Waukesha engines business unit. They will apply top-tier marketing knowledge, encompassing business expansion, customer categorization, market evaluation, competitive market analysis, and the formulation of pricing and market penetration strategies. They will collaborate closely with the Waukesha Product Management and leadership team to keep the business updated on market trends and opportunities for business expansion.

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Provide market intelligence assessment (Industry forecasts, customer segmentation, competitive intelligence, win/loss analysis, installed base analytics, and equipment/services share estimates.)
  • Develop marketing strategies and new product offerings to set the direction for Waukesha Engines in selecting target markets and customers.
  • Develop M&A target list and scorecard to support and drive business growth in services, engine platform management, digital, and ESG.  
  • Deliver an effective marketing communication strategy aimed at unleashing equipment and service product growth.
  • Maintain a long-term view and execution plan that enables new business development growth and sustainability.
  • Lead new business development opportunities, by leveraging market and competitive analysis, to introduce new products, services and enable the Sales and Services team to grow business in our go-to market.
  • Develop a new business development strategy that enables growth in both existing base and new customer segments.
  • Lead the team to develop the Waukesha business growth strategy, achieve pricing enhancement and expansion of share to exceed Waukesha’s revenue and margin targets. 

Qualifications/ Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Economics, Engineering or related field. Advanced degree in, Management, Marketing, MBA, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum 10+ years marketing and product/new business development role.
  • Experience developing competitive analysis and price benchmarking to promote products’ value proposition and inform which product and service areas should be sales’ areas of focus.
  • Experience with data visualization platforms such as Power BI, Tableau etc.
  • Experience expanding into new markets/customer classes and leading initial customer engagement to support building early stages of the sales pipeline.
  • Experience managing P & L
  • Experience in the energy, oil or gas industry is preferred
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally approximately up to 25% of the time
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now, or in the future
