Overview of job:

As the Media Executive, you will be executing client’s advertising campaigns throughout the planning and buying of paid media as well as the negotiation process. You will embrace and champion IKON’s dynamic trading ethos.


You will leverage IKON’s suite of tools and dashboards to deliver optimal, accurate and cost-effective campaign KPIs. All of our Media Executives are empowered to make their own data led decisions.



Reporting of the role:

This role reports to the Amplification & Trading Manager.


Responsibilities of the role:

  • Be an expert in all offline media channels and digital advocate while sharing expertise with clients and broader team and agency
  • Service client’s daily to ensure work is flowing and clients are happy and updated
  • Manage the realistic expectation regarding the delivery of work to clients
  • Responsible for ensuring all approved campaigns are booked, set up for trafficking, set up for analytics/conversion tags and load into BCC for invoicing
  • Ensure all reporting, both internal and to clients, is 100% accurate and delivered within set deadlines
  • Attend and provide insightful input into group/team WIPs, agency discussions, Trading Market Meetings and media owner presentations to share knowledge with coordinators

What you will need:

  • Minimum 1-2 years media experience
  • Working knowledge of the media planning & buying processes & tools
  • Passion for media and understanding of the market conditions
  • Curiosity and willingness to further progress in the media industry
  • Eagerness to add value to the team and wider agency
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Degree in Communications, Media or similar is preferred but not essential



Measures of success:

In three months

  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal teams and key partners (including media owners, creative teams and clients)
  • Communicate in a professional and timely manner as directed by the team Manager/Director
  • Have a good understanding of the clients business and internal processes
  • Ability to take client briefs and translate them into a detailed media plans to achieve communication objectives

In six months

  • Negotiate trading positions across all mediums ensuring all benchmarks (FMM, client and internal), trading strategies and contractual agreements are met
  • Mentor and lead the team coordinator to develop detailed media plans, utilise planning tools and build an understanding of the negotiation process

In twelve months

  • Assist the Manager/Director in strategic media planning and responses to client briefs
  • Deliver innovative communication solutions that amplify the creative idea and surprise & delight the client
  • Build profile through writing or contributing to agency opinion pieces
