Background Information:
Innovative Defense Technologies (IDT), provider of automated software testing, data analysis, and cybersecurity solutions for complex, mission-critical systems in the US Department of Defense (DOD), is seeking a Software Deployment Engineer to be based out of our Arlington, Virginia or Mt. Laurel, New Jersey office.  

Overview:
IDT is seeking a Software Engineer with 3+ years of experience. This position offers an engineer the opportunity to utilize their knowledge and talents as part of a collaborative team developing software for a growing company.

All applicants must be able to obtain/maintain an active U.S. Security Clearance.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain Infrastructure as Code software for automated deployment and configuration of a multi-site, multi-system environment
  • Participate in identification and applications of emerging technologies and architectures including evaluation of cloud operations platforms such as cloud IaaS, PaaS, SaaS
  • Developing design documentation
  • Communicate and work collaboratively with colleagues and lead engineers

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics, or Math
  •  3+ years of professional software deployment experience in technically rigorous environments

Required Skills:

  • Experience with container technologies (Docker and Docker-Compose etc.) 
  • Proficiency in automation scripts and tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, Salt, etc.
  • Basic full-stack development skills: SQL, Python/Java, JavaScript, HTML/CSS
  • Strong Linux skills
  • High degree of competence in Bash and Shell
  • Ability to shift from one project to another in an agile work environment
  • Basic networking experience
  • Strong documentation skills
  • Ability to travel approximately 10 - 20% 

 Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Kubernetes distros such as OpenShift, RKE2 and/or Tanzu
  • Experience with software defined networking (SDN) such as NSX-T
  • Experience with Git, Jenkins, Artifactory
  • Experience with server and or desktop virtualization
  • DevSecOps experience
  • Virtualization Infrastructure Experience with VMware or similar virtualization tools
  • Networking experience – TCP/IP, DNS, Load Balancing, Firewall, NetBIOS, switching, Routing, VLANs
  • Experience with at least one public cloud environment, such as Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure
