Regional Literacy Coach
Role Mission: We are seeking an experienced and passionate literacy coach to support our region’s efforts in improving student literacy skills. The literacy coach will work collaboratively with national and regional staff to design and deliver effective literacy training, conduct classroom observations, and analyze data to identify areas of improvement. The Regional Literacy Coach will expand the knowledge, skills and toolkits of all campus leaders to ensure ELA classrooms are optimum to engage all students in the learning.
Location: This is a full-time onsite position based in El Paso, with preference given to candidates who live in the region or who are willing to relocate.
Travel Expectation: 1-2 times per year for stepbacks or meetings
What You’ll Do - Accountabilities
Essential Duties:
- Design and facilitate professional development sessions that support teachers and leaders in implementing evidence-based literacy practices.
- Collaborate with National Coaches and the Academic Services Team to develop and implement effective literacy instruction for students.
- Provide ongoing coaching and support to teachers and leaders to ensure fidelity of implementation of literacy instruction.
- Conduct regular classroom observations to identify areas of strength and growth in literacy instruction.
- Collect and analyze literacy data to monitor student progress and inform instructional decisions.
- Collaborate with campus and regional leadership to develop and implement literacy improvement plans based on data analysis.
- Communicate regularly with regional leaders about student progress and instructional initiatives.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with the latest research and trends in literacy instruction.
What You Bring – Competencies:
Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
Experience:
- Valid teaching certification.
- Minimum of 3 years of classroom teaching experience.
- Experience as a literacy coach, instructional coach, or schools leader preferred.
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based literacy practices and instructional strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to design and facilitate effective professional development sessions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Strong data analysis skills and experience working with data to inform instructional decisions.
- Knowledge of current literacy trends and research.

Compensation & Benefits:
Salaries for people entering this role typically fall between $70,500 and $82,100 , commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and in alignment with internal equity. This role is also eligible for performance pay based on organizational performance and goal attainment.
