Regional AP Coach

 

Role Mission: The purpose of the Regional AP Coach is the improvement of instructional clarity, content, and execution of balanced Advanced Placement programs, ensuring that school performance continually outpaces the rate of expansion of the district, through building the content and curricular capacities of regional College Prep instructional leaders.

 

 

Location: This is a full-time on-site position located in Austin, TX. Preference will be given to candidates who live in the region, or who are willing to relocate.

 

What You’ll Do – Accountabilities:

Essential Duties: 

  • Lead strategic initiatives to build instructional capacity at schools such as providing focused analysis to leaders, building content capacity through coaching, designing professional development, creating deliverables that address strategic curricular needs on campuses.  
  • Provide organization, region, school, assessment, and student-level analyses and strategic recommendations to increase both efficiency and efficacy of senior and school leadership.
  • Build capacity in instructional staff to deliver high-quality first instruction and data-driven interventions to close gaps
  • Lead/participate in AP instructional rounds.
  • Train AP Content Team Leaders in how to lead effective Content Team Meetings.
  • Utilize data to inform decisions.
  • Retain teachers by building their knowledge, skills, and mindset needed to be effective AP teachers
  • Regularly analyze quantitative and qualitative data at academies and college preps across the region to identify instructional gaps in AP instruction and achievement. 
  • Design and partner with Academic Services Team to provide timely professional development that increases the ability of teachers and leaders to meet ambitious academic goals in AP courses. 
  • Lead professional development for AP teachers focused on GET 3, GET 4, and GET 5.
  • Lead professional development for instructional leaders managing AP focused on SLL 1, 2, and 3.

 

What You Bring – Competencies:

 

 

Required Experience:

  •  Education: Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred
  • Experience: 
    • At least 2 years of successful teaching experience in High School/College Prep
    • Proven success with AP Instruction and student achievement outcomes
    • Proven success coaching or leading others (coach, mentor, lead, etc.) 

 

What We Offer:


Compensation & Benefits:

Salaries for people entering this role typically fall between $86,500 and $101,200 commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and in alignment with internal equity. This role is also eligible for performance pay based on organizational performance and goal attainment.
