Position overview:    

The Wellness  Administrator (WA) is responsible for supporting the Managing Director of Staff Benefits & Wellness with the planning, facilitation, and administration of the mental/behavioral and fitness activities for 10,000+ employees across 11 regions and 5 statesThe WA works to implements classes, speakers, seminars, personal training, and fitness assessments that promote a healthy lifestyleAdditionally, the WA will aim to evaluate and improve processes to ensure a streamlined administration is operating with efficiency and accuracyIn addition, the WA supports to ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal laws and regulations across our 5 states of operations.    

     

Location:    

This is a full-time remote position based in Texas with preference given to candidates who live in Austin, El Paso, Houston, Permian Basin (Midland/Odessa), Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio, and Tarrant County (Fort Worth), or who are willing to relocate.    

     

     

     

What You’ll Do – Accountabilities    

     

In this role you will:    

  • Design toolkits to support Wellness Champions with cascading wellness information at campuses
  • Conduct monthly/quarterly meetings for Wellness Champions to learn about opportunities and needs
  • Support in developing, marketing, and executing an org-wide wellness initiative and program to help reduce health risks, medical costs, and encourage healthy lifestyles
  • Provide staff with health education opportunities such as health fairs, nutrition and fitness classes, mental/behavioral health seminars
  • Support with the design and implementation of wellness strategies to increase ROI
  • Support with demonstrating program outcomes, annual healthcare productivity savings and return on investment
  • Transform staffs' lifestyles and awareness of health by consistently providing education and lifestyle tips
  • Reduce lifestyle disease, assessing staff population for health disparities and creating, implementing, and evaluating various health programs
  • Provide supervisors and management with confidential support and guidance through interpretation of organizational policy and procedures
  • Execute the Wellness Program to target Mental/Behavioral Health
  • Coordinate Employee Resource Groups to target specific mental/behavioral needs
  • Ensure effective delivery of programs through constant communication and forward planning
  • Develop and maintain consistent positive communication with staff to build relationships, optimize customer satisfaction, and enhance program design
  • Administer and complete billing reconciliations every month and solve through discrepancies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote preventative health benefits
  • Responsible for gathering and analyzing data to measure program success on wellness initiatives and compiling an annual comprehensive report that outlines the financial impact of the wellness program
  • Establish multiple criteria, procedures, and instruments for assessing program effectiveness to employees, such as developing and disseminating an annual employee survey
  • Develop creative program materials, including promotional items and communicate clearly and effectively employee wellness opportunities through multiple venues, such as developing and maintaining an employee wellness newsletter
  • Keep abreast of current national wellness initiatives and activities, develop a network of resources and contacts to further expand the Employee Wellness Program. Explore ideas and opportunities to personalize programs to increase employee participation

     

What You Bring – Competencies    

     

Required experience:    

  • Bachelor's degree in human resource management or related field, and three to five years of related benefits or employee benefits administration experience. 
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP and CEBS professional designations preferred

Required technology:    

  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use Microsoft products, including PowerPoint, experience with Employee Information Systems, Enrollment Platforms, and other benefits databases.
  • Strong excel knowledge and skills.

     

Preferred skills/experience:    

  • Project and team management/leadership skills and experience.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment with associates.
  • Effective planning and priority setting. Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills and a thorough knowledge of plan designs.
  • Ability to understand, evaluate and make judgment on proposals (RFPs).
  • Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, both adopted and pending, affecting employee benefits programs, including the ACA, ERISA, and COBRA.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.

     

     

Physical Requirements:     

·           Must be able to sit for extended periods of time without being able to leave the work area.    

·           Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.      

·           Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move 15 pounds (occasionally)

Compensation & Benefits:    

Salaries for people entering this role typically fall between $58,400 and $67,200, commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and in alignment with internal equity. This role is also eligible for performance pay based on organizational performance and goal attainment.
