Role Mission: The Safety Systems and Implementation Manager role will focus on overseeing the implementation of safety systems across the district and ensuring consistency and standardization in safety measures, taking into account the unique needs of each campus within the district; working closely with various departments to integrate safety programs effectively into their daily operations; managing and ensuring alignment with state-required safety programs such as:

 

Centralized security cameras and card access control systems (Verkada)

Silent panic alert technology (Raptor Alert, Alertus cards) with 911/PSAP center integration

State anonymous reporting tip line systems (iWatch Texas, Safer Ohio, Safe Schools Louisiana, FortifyFL

Raptor Visitor Management suite to control access to school premises

Raptor Volunteer Management suite to maintain an open and supportive volunteer program

Raptor Emergency Management suite to facilitate a swift and effective response to any crisis

 

 

Location:

This is a full-time on-site position based in Texas with preference given to candidates who live in Austin, El Paso, Houston, Permian Basin (Midland/Odessa), Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio, and Tarrant County (Fort Worth), or who are willing to relocate.

 

Travel Expectations: 30% of the time

 

What You’ll Do – Accountabilities

 

Essential Duties:

  • Manage Systems: Lead the implementation, maintenance, monitoring, and upgrade of district-wide safety technology platforms, including security cameras, access control systems, panic alert technology, tip lines, visitor and volunteer management software, emergency management systems, and safety data dashboards.
  • Ensure Implementation Compliance: Work with the Director of Safety and Security to monitor and incorporate school safety legislation and rules related to system implementation and management.
  • Training and Support: Train district staff on safety system usage and provide ongoing technical support.
  • Build Relations with Vendors: Establish and manage relationships with system vendors, negotiate contracts, and oversee service agreements.
  • Collaborate with Other Departments: Build relationships with crucial departments to ensure effective system implementation and maintenance experience.
  • Manage Day-to-Day Operations: Oversee daily operational aspects of multiple projects, including client/team meetings, communication of status, change control process, and problem resolution.
  • Foster Partnerships: Collaborate with district leaders, law enforcement, and community partners to enhance safety measures.
  • Analyze Data: Collect and analyze safety data from systems to identify trends and areas for improvement, producing regular reports.

 

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support Policy and Protocol Development: Collaborate with the Safety & Security department to create and update policies governing safety system usage, ensuring compliance with district standards and legal regulations.
  • Support Site Management: Ensure alignment, revision, and updates of resources on the Safety and Security HUB site in collaboration with the Safety & Security department.
  • Support Data Dashboards: Collaborate with the Director of Safety and Security to manage safety and security data dashboards for analysis.

What You Bring – Competencies

  • Experience with surveillance and access control systems (Verkada)
  • Experience with visitor and volunteer management systems (Raptor)
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office 365, including SharePoint Lists, PowerApps, and Power Bi.
  • Strong skills in prioritization, attention to detail, critical-thinking, and problem-solving, and communication
  • Skill in effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Able to manage and monitor multiple projects at once, often under pressure with competing priorities and tight turnarounds while maintaining composure, ensuring quality, and achieving results.
  • Able to build strong relationships and mutually beneficial business partnerships through trust, empathy, and credibility.
  • Able to provide, receive, and implement feedback that improves performance and achieves results.

 

Knowledge and Skills:

 

Required experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or 8+ years of considerable experience in an Information and Technology field 
  • At least 6 years of experience in education or systems management.
  • At least 4 years of experience in software implementation.

 

Preferred experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
  • At least 6 years of experience in education or systems management.
  • At least 4 years of experience in software implementation.

Physical Requirements:

'The ability to travel to different regions and conduct campus walkthroughs

Compensation & Benefits:

Salaries for people entering this role typically fall between $74,764 and $87,100, commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and in alignment with internal equity. This role is also eligible for performance pay based on organizational performance and goal attainment.
