eCommerce Web Developer

Reporting to the Global Head of ecommerce Platform, you’ll be responsible for development of our eCommerce platform and related systems.  You will be working with a variety of stakeholders and third party solutions providers to deliver premium online customer experiences that increase online sales, brand affinity and repeat visits. This will mean working with both front-end and back-end technologies to contribute positively to the management of source code.

We need someone who can manage the searchandizing, merchandizing and the ongoing maintenance of site storefronts for assigned sites/markets.  On top of all of this, you will also support seasonal launch efforts through product creation support and content update support. Additionally the role will own the site configuration, preference setup, and content library setup for the EU and UK websites, and also have a general understanding and knowledge of all other areas of business manager setup for the EU and UK sites. Sounds busy and it sure is.

Your past life:

  • Successful experience developing on an eCommerce Platform
  • A wealth of experience working with object oriented programming using .NET and/or J2EE.
  • Experienced and knowledge with Web services, AJAX, XML, SOAP, REST, HTTPS and RSA encryption.
  • Ability to use Javascript, HTML5, and CSS3.
  • Prior work with engineering tools such as bug tracking and source code control systems
  • Knowledge with Eclipse IDE preferred
  • Experience with Responsive Design

Tools in your belt:

  • Manage source code and release management processes, coordinating with 3rd party Systems Integrator on code deployments for major releases, bug fixes and seasonal launches.
  • Develop and deploy scalable and appropriate website solutions using the Demandware eCommerce platform’s development framework.
  • Perform unit and end-to-end regression testing, testing for cross browser compatibility and responsiveness across multiple OS platforms and devices
  • Support all system administrator tasks and processes
  • Gather and analyse Google Analytics and Demandware Analytics customer journey data, looking for weak points in customer experience.
  • Work closely with the Operations Manager and Web Content Coordinator for setting priorities.
  • Contribute to the strategic direction of how our architecture is built and should evolve.
  • Provide ongoing development support for customer service, campaign management, and analytics tool
