Content.  The most overused C word out there.   And the most important.  Our story is about people’s connection with nature and with each other.  Icebreakers are story-tellers.  We want to share our adventures and inspire others to get outside and have their own adventures.  We believe in the power of nature and the power of our products.  Compelling content is the key.

 

You may be a journalist or a writer, might be leading a news team or you may be the best content creator in NZ looking for the next step – either way you have a knack for stories, writing, posts, editorials, blogs, features, have a love of quirks and an eye for classy cut through content.

 

Reporting to the Chief Marketing & Strategy Officer (CMSO), you will be lead our Brand Content Hub.  You will work closely with the CMSO to develop, set and maintain the editorial voice of the Icebreaker brand across all facets and channels. Areas Include content direction and development, writing and editing, daily management of Icebreaker brand led journal and social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, YouTube, Vimeo), ensuring content and editing maintain brand integrity.   This is a brilliant job for the right person.

 

Your track record reads like this:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, Creative Writing or related field
  • Equivalent of 4+ years editorial experience
  • An articulate wordsmith and copywriter, combining a sense of humour with a sophisticated point of view
  • Culturally relevant, with a highly developed interest in nature, adventurers, fashion, art, music, and photography as it relates to the Icebreaker consumer
  • Ability to work on a variety of projects at one time. You can do it all.
  • Ability to build relationships and work with a variety of co-workers across multiple teams and functions
  • Passionate about culture, branding, and the space in which they intersect

 

 

And this is how you will nail this role:

 

  • Act as a journal editor, assist with special events, and manage all copywriting processes for product descriptions, email campaigns and campaigns
  • Develop monthly content themes, long-term content plans that support and enhance Icebreaker consumer engagement, platforms and brand marketing campaigns
  • Develop dynamic content features both online and print, including photography, video, studio visits, informative pieces and individual profiles, and beyond, and strategically incorporate these stories into overall marketing campaigns and social media messaging
  • Develop photographic direction and overall mood and feel of original stories on a weekly basis on a weekly
  • Collaborate with the designers to develop and create content for an ongoing content strategy in line with current brand identity and future direction
  • Be aware of and help implement new content trends and editorial ideas as they relate to the Icebreaker brand and customer
  • Research, pitch, produce, write and edit blog stories and features that represent and elevate the spirit of the Icebreaker brand
  • Work collaboratively with designers to execute big picture, long-lasting and impactful ideas across multiple platforms, driving engagement, excitement and sales
  • Work directly with partners and ambassadors to develop branded storytelling through the Icebreaker lens
  • Work collaboratively with external content editors to bring newness and originality to the consumer
  • Prepare and pitch cohesive planning on a monthly and weekly basis connecting into regions to determine internal and external news worthy content and forward features
  • Seamlessly integrate merchandising messages into compelling content stories that will live as Marketing across all platforms emails, site creative, and product groups
  • Lead the Brand Content Hub team
