Job Title: Trading Operations Developer

QuantOne is one of the major initiatives for Hutchin Hill.  Formed in 2016 after the consolidation of most of the firm’s quant groups, our mandate is to enable the next generation of quant strategies.  We are a close knit group and are looking for others that want to be part of a highly collaborative, entrepreneurial team that will drive Hutchin Hill’s growth over the next decade.

This role will be an integral part of our trading team.  You will work closely with our quants and other developers to design, develop and deploy systems and tools to improve our Trading Operations.  This can include everything from trading automation, performance tuning to monitoring and anything else that can help us run more effectively. In short, you will be at the heart of all of our day to day operations, making and monitoring changes to infrastructure to create a best in class operations platform. 

 

The Role

  • Analyze and solve problems related to our global trading operation
  • Recommend and implement changes to automate and improve daily operational processes
  • Work closely with our trading team / risk monitors to monitor algo trading behavior and triage issues in real time as they occur
  • Develop and enhance monitoring systems to improve our capabilities
  • Perform ad hoc special projects that will expose you to the broader group which may include development of broker / market access connectivity, algo performance evaluation and others.

 

Qualifications

  • 2+ years as a developer working in a quantitative trading operations environment
  • Excellent design, debugging and problem solving skills
  • Hands on experience with Python, C/C++, q/Kdb+, or similar languages.
  • Knowledge of and ability to easily work in a LINUX / command line infrastructure
  • Familiarity with systems configuration management and monitoring technologies, a plus

 

Academic Prerequisites

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Computer Science or other technical major
  • Strong academic performance
