Levolor continues to offer great blinds and shades solutions in a wide variety of vertical, aluminum and wood blinds; cellular and woven wood shades; and sheer vertical window treatments. Levolor has recently expanded its product offering to include beautiful decorative drapery hardware, distributed nationally through home centers and other retailers

The main focus of this position is to assist the OPEX team in achieving continuous improvement and Gross-Margin improvement goals by implementing operational excellence programs across business, operational and supply chain processes. The ideal candidate will be able to use Six Sigma and Lean principles to assist in our goal of becoming a high quality and cost competitive World-Class Manufacturer.


Responsibilities: 

  • Direct, lead, and guide all OpEx initiatives within the Segment across all functions – sourcing, packaging, Product, process and SG&A.
  • Work with Segment management to develop strategies to ensure ongoing education of all employees in OpEx initiatives
  • Productivity Generation: Work with Segment finance team to analyze spend buckets and identify areas of opportunities.
  • Utilize the stage-gate productivity process for idea generation and to increase the conversion rate of projects from ideation to launch.
  • Analyze and provide high-level technical and operational recommendations in meeting safety, quality, service, and cost goals
  • Lead & facilitate multiple team Kaizen events
  • Lead & facilitate Value Analysis events at each of the Segment’s locations and within each product category
  • Utilize all operating disciplines through value stream management to provide recommendations for a master plan to meet OpEx goals
  • Track productivity performance (major projects) by location and product category. Provide documentation of results and benefits achieved
  • Share best practice methods and ideas with the Segment staff and across other business Segments.
  • Exercise discretionary authority over day-to-day OpEx implementation operations
  • Enhance and employ operational performance metrics to gage manufacturing and distribution process improvement progress.
  • In a matrix organization structure, train and mentor the OPEX/Engineering Managers at all plants.
  • Work within a cross functional product development team to improve product and process engineering capabilities of the organization.
  • Effectively communicate at all organizational levels and across functions to enhance relationships at the operational and executive levels.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BSME, BSIE or relevant technical BS Degree. Master’s Degree preferred
  • Extensive Process Improvement Management experience
  • 5 yrs in the Quality function in a leadership role
  • 10+ years of manufacturing experience demonstrating a self-starting and hands-on quality systems leadership.
  • Experience and success in implementing Lean Manufacturing from beginning to full implementation
  • 5 years Lean Manufacturing experience
  • Six Sigma Black Belt Trained (Certification Preferred)
  • Proven track record of successfully leading multiple Kaizen events, typical three to five day events, within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong facilitation of encouragement, motivation, and inspirational skills.
  • Good presentation skills to effectively share the success and ideas
  • Demonstrated ability to not only use but also effectively instruct in the proper use of Six Sigma and Lean principles such as Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Visual Factory, TPM, Just-in-Time, Demand Flow, Single Piece Flow, SMED, Continuous Improvement Process, Kaizen, DMAIC, SPC as well as other statistical problem solving tools
  • Strong understanding of financial measurements and the P&L.
