Tooling Repair Technician

Certificate of completion from a Vocational/Technical High School Precision Machining Program or NIMS (National Institute of Metalworking Skills) Level 1 Accreditation or 2 years on the job training in the relevant field a plus. Advanced training in precision machining a plus.

Responsible for maintaining and/or repairing and the following specialized tasks: Required to utilize basic tool room machines and machine tools in the fabrication or preventative maintenance of replacement mold and die components.

Knowledge of use of measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, and indicators. Must be able to use various types of lifting equipment (fork trucks, die carts and chain hoists). Must be able to assemble and disassemble molds, be able to read and understand blueprints. Responsible to clean and polish molds, detect mold component failure and complete appropriate paperwork. (Mold tags, fill out time sheets and enter data into computer). Must be able to work independently or as part of a team and maintain a safe work environment.

Must be able to drive company vehicles used in the delivery and retrieval of molds from local vendors.
