Location:Tupelo, Mississippi


Objective of Position:


The objective of this position will be to supervise the day to day operations of the maintenance department and associated staff.


General Description of Position:

The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for directing all maintenance personnel as well as directing the day to day operations of the department. This shall include scheduling staff, project management, troubleshooting, and oversight of the facility preventative maintenance programs. In addition to these departmental tasks the position will be responsible for operating within departmental budget.

General Responsibilities and Duties:

 General responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  1. Department staff scheduling


  1. Planning and scheduling of preventative maintenance tasks


  1. Troubleshooting and testing of PLC, pneumatics, electrical circuits, etc


  1. Use of computer systems such as SAP, MP2, CAD, etc


  1. Managing facility emergency response equipment (suppression systems, alarms, generators, fire pumps)


  1. Direct the Installation of new electrical motors, circuits, or  changes to existing systems


  1. Performing root cause analysis on mechanical failures


  1.  Manage the powered industrial truck maintenance program


  1. Assist with design, planning, and execution of facility capital projects.


  1. Supervise and direct the diagnostics, repair, or replacement of pneumatics, electronic, HVAC, or other related systems.





For knowledge statements, according to the Uniform Selection Guidelines issued by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the following definitions of knowledge are:


Basic:  General familiarity; aware of universal principles of maintenance.


Solid:  Working knowledge of industrial systems such as HVAC, AC/DC circuits, PLC’s, and Pneumatics


Acceptable Training and Experience:


  1. Associates Degree or technical degree in Industrial Technology/Maintenance or Electrical Maintenance and  5+ years’ experience in manufacturing setting
  2. 3+ years supervisor experience preferred
  3. Experience with facility preventative maintenance systems
  4. Basic knowledge of NEC, OSHA, NFPA 70E
  5. Must have good communication skills, both oral and written
  6. Position requires detail-oriented person with ability to handle several different projects at once.
  7. Experience with metal fabrications such as plasma cutting, welding, etc.
  8. Basic understanding of PLC programs including Allen Bradley, Siemens, etc
  9. Basic knowledge of industrial robotics
