What will you do?
Manage assigned commodities to established service and inventory goals. Identify and implement improvements to material planning practices within Hunter Douglas’ new SAP S4/Hana environment. Review the MRP system to determine the number of goods in stock, the number of items on back order and anticipated delivery dates. Maintain contact with suppliers to be informed of all changes to delivery schedule dates. Request goods or raw materials to be expedited from suppliers, on an as-needed basis, to avoid stock-outs. Follow up diligently on material back-orders.
Prepare documentation for the solicitation of competitive bids from suppliers. Review and discuss quotations and proposals with department representatives from Engineering, Quality Assurance and Product Management. Determine
Manage sub-contractor supply streams as required.
Communicate with Customer Service to inform them of stock outs or revised delivery dates of materials which will impact the fulfillment of customer orders.
Work with Quality Assurance and Engineering to resolve problems with defective materials. Meet with suppliers to address quality or servicing issues.
What will you have?
A four-year degree is desired. Three+ years of business operations experience required. A substitute of three to five years of business experience in lieu of a four-year degree may be considered. A wide range of diversified Materials Management experience in a manufacturing environment using MRP systems is required. Experience with SAP S4/Hana is highly desired. CPIM and/or CSCP certification through APICS (American Production Inventory Control Society) is desired.
Expert ability in being adaptive and resourceful in solving operational and supply chain problems that occur regularly.
Solid knowledge in MRP based material planning.
Solid knowledge of the dynamics associated with product development, requirements management, timelines, and development of prototype through production materials.
Solid knowledge of stage-gate product development processes
Solid knowledge of product sourcing strategies
Solid knowledge of material cost management and cost reduction execution
Solid knowledge of project management and the ability to coordinate a high level of activity under a variety of conditions and constraints
Solid knowledge of general business practices within an industry leading Manufacturing environment.

Solid Ability to negotiate with suppliers for win-win solutions.
