Skill Requirements:  This position requires strong organizational and communication skills as well as ability to adapt to ever changing priorities. The Specialist may be required to make professional decisions with absolute confidentiality. The following skills are needed:

  • Post-secondary education required (equivalent experience will be considered)
  • Degree in Human Resource related field preferred but not required
  • 2 - 3 years of experience in Human Resource capacity required
  • Knowledge of state and federal human resource related laws FMLA, NLRA, FLSA, ADA and working knowledge of OSHA
  • Must have above average computer skills in word processing, spreadsheet applications, and powerpoint (Microsoft Office)
  • Must detail oriented, and have exceptional time management, organization, and planning skills with ability to meet deadlines

Primary Responsibilities include:

  • All areas of benefits administration including medical/dental plans administration, leave of absence management, HRA/ERISA compliance
  • Payroll support functions including timeclock systems
  • Staffing & employee recruitment
  • New Hire orientation and employee training
  • Employee Investigations and progressive discipline process
  • Attendance tracking including vacation/PTO administration
  • Employee retention/relations activities
  • Provide HR related guidance to Managers/Supervisors
  • Plant-wide employee activities
  • Coordinate and assist with the HR Manager and corporate HR on any other HR/Benefits related programs as needed or assigned
  • Some safety related functions as needed or assigned by the HR Manager
  • Assist in the coordination of any other projects through the year as assigned
