This is an opportunity to build and structure project management within the learning and development department at Hunter Douglas. This is a new role for the L&D team and we need someone to be our Project Management expert who can help us to put best practices in place and will own the project management function with in the L&D space.

Acceptable Experience and Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Three to four years of project management experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree. 
  • PMP Certification a plus, or willingness to pursue certification required.
  • Proven track record demonstrating exceptional organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple projects.  

 Job Details:

Responsible for delivering and executing concurrent projects staffed with training and management resources, maintaining internal/external customer satisfaction, and enhancing project management methodologies and tool sets. Will be a member of the Learning and Development operations team responsible for strategic partnering and planning to provide forward thinking, standards based people, process, and technology solutions. Support building streamlined efficiencies, creating new processes, and enabling continued return on investment.

 Customer Interaction- Serve as the primary liaison of Learning and Development to position learning knowledge management related solutions.   By proactively identifying risks and identifying solutions to challenges for both our internal and external customers. By being this liaison this position will build strong relationships with stakeholders and establish themselves as a business partner within Learning and Development.


Project Management- Works with requestors and teams within Learning and Development to understand learning needs, scope of project, establish timelines, and deliver weekly status reports throughout project life cycle.  By establishing reports and regular meetings, this position will be responsible for the master project plan within Learning and Development and hold each group/individual accountable for project timelines.


Financial Oversight-Plan and manage Learning and Developments project budget expenses, including forecasts, invoice and accruals (includes but is not limited to completion of purchase orders, tracking of employee project hours, reconciliation for purchase cards). Produce monthly financial reports on project budgets, monthly spend and status of spend to allocated budget.


Reporting and Metrics- Develop weekly reporting on all projects and complete project plans. Create, build and distribute custom analytics and reports based on goals and metrics. Report on successes and lessons learned from learning mediums and Learning and Development program launches. Specifically track and monitor the success of programs based on behaviors, target goals and knowledge transfer.


Standardization- Ensures alignment within Learning and Development of templates, branding and tools/technology.  Guides staff to follow consistent practices, guidelines, nomenclature and Learning and Development principles.



Solid knowledge of project management methodologies.

Solid knowledge in the use of project management tools.

Solid knowledge of working across departments, divisions and groups to achieves deadlines and goals

Solid understanding of and management of project documentation.

Ability to integrate multiple systems and data sets, able to query info-spaces and perform statistical analysis.

Ability to connect different types of data sets in different forms as well as work with potentially incomplete data sources

Basic knowledge of Statistical analysis: understand and work around possible limitations in models

Ability to analyze numerical information to identify trends and distinguish discrepancies and inaccuracies in prepared reports.

Ability to troubleshoot and develop problem solving techniques to improve upon job efficiency and processes to drive learning principles and results.

Ability to communicate verbally and in written form on a one-to-one or group basis.

Ability to exhibit initiative to quickly learn and retain various cross discipline information within a relatively short time period.

Ability to work with virtual groups.

Ability to design solutions incorporating a variety of learning products. Proven competence and experience in managing complex projects with multiple stakeholder, across multiple environments.

Solid problem solving, solution and strategic thinking.

Expert presentation development and proposal writing skills.
