The Role

A person in this role will have exposure to all of Hunter Douglas North America and will work with and for every division and site. Even though this role reports up through IT, it is really more data and process focused. You will get to work with data flows, inventory, customers, supply chain, component manufacturing, you will run reports, communicate results, analyze data, research into company products and help to coordinate meetings and projects. This is a new role to the organization and ongoing will help to ensure the integrity of the data the business uses to make decisions and run effectively. Since it is a new role you will have opportunity to mold and shape the processes and practices with data moving forward.  A substantial amount of travel will be required in the next year and will then slow down.

About You

You are a great communicator, you have attention to detail, have an aptitude for technical information, and are a great organizer. You have experience with or exposure to SAP and enjoy working with data. You can be adaptable and flexible and are a self-starter.

Acceptable Training and Experience

2 years of prior experience working with a manufacturing company on SAP enterprise system in one or more of the following areas - customer service, marketing, sales, warehouse, and operations.

The Job

The objective of the role of the MDG Business Analyst is to work with the Master Data Governance Analysts, the Variant Configurator Analysts and the business to gather, create and maintain master data for the Hunter Douglas enterprise and to ensure completeness, accuracy and consistency throughout the lifecycle of the data by monitoring the data in the system using the tools we have in place.  In this role the analyst will be responsible for maintaining written policies and procedures around data governance and product configuration including the request process, ticketing process, view and field format and usage, error correction, reporting, service level agreements (SLA’s), test requirements and project timelines.

  • Be recognized as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for SAP master data and requirements
  • Coordinate and facilitate weekly Data Council meetings
  • Load and update system master data information accurately and in a timely manner as defined in the process
  • Monitor multiple data elements in SAP to ensure adherence to enterprise design and standards
  • Build and maintain data rules in the Information Steward system
  • Maintain the Hunter Douglas Master Data Governance website
  • Create and maintain Master Data Governance process documentation
  • Support the Master Data Governance Analysts and VC Analysts as needed, including full coverage when workload dictates
  • Audit system to drive continuous master data adherence to data standards
  • Lead design and implementation of improved processes and workflows for master data maintenance
  • Establish master data standards and definitions documentation
  • Coordinate data governance requirements materials across various projects
  • Participate in Variant Configurator testing prior to all product launches
  • Ensure completion and distribution of reports of VC data accuracy in our QA and production SAP environments
  • Travel required

 

Qualifications and KSA’s

Basic Understanding and proficiency with SAP master data views

Basic Working knowledge of Order-to-Cash processes

Basic Understanding of impact of business partner and/or material master across the organization in Order to Cash

Basic Understanding of impact of business partner and/or material master across the organization in Supply Chain Management - Procure to Pay, Planning, and Production & Ops

Basic Understanding of impact of business partner and/or material master across the organization in Finance & Accounting

Basic Understanding of impact of business partner and/or material master across the organization in Reporting

Basic Understanding of impact of business partner and/or material master across the organization in Engineering

Basic Understanding of impact of business partner and/or material master across the organization in Product Configuration

Strong verbal and written communication skills; as well as demonstrating effective listening
