Description

Horizon Industries Limited (HIL) is a dynamic IT and Management Consulting firm based in the Washington, DC area. We are currently seeking a Tester for a full-time position in Vienna, VA, supporting a Federal Agency.

Job Description:

Application tester with a minimum of 3 years software testing. Experience must include interpreting requirements, writing quality control, and writing user acceptance test plans. Preferred experience testing Appian software applications, but expertise will be measured in this area given the nature and complexity of the task order

 

Duties of a Tester may include:

  • Perform detailed test designs using sound software test engineering principles
  • Collaboratively elaborate requirements to enable Acceptance Test Driven Development (ATDD) with BAs and developers
  • Perform tasks required for automated test implementation, including reviewing acceptance criteria, creating integration/regression test scenarios, implementing data management strategy, and generating required reports.
  • Define and establish test metrics to measure not just product quality, but quality of testing and feedback to engineers
  • Develop efficient and effective quantitative methods and guidelines, in order to continuously improve quality processes and practices across multiple projects

Required Skills / Experience:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of software testing functional testing
  • Experience in the Department of Transportation is a plus
  • Experience with interpreting requirements, writing quality control, and writing user acceptance test plans
  • Testing Appian software applications preferred; expertise will be measured in this area given the nature and complexity of the task order
  • Experience with automated test tools to test Web-based applications
  • Experience with creating automated test scripts and developing RVTMs, test plans, and procedures
  • Experience with using test automation tools, including Selenium and automated testing with cruise control and subversion
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies
  • Knowledge of the software development life cycle
  • Ability to troubleshoot and debug
  • Ability to write and maintain technical documents
  • Experience with testing Web applications
  • Experience with the project management framework
  • Experience with business process analysis and development
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Possession of excellent team leadership and development, client relationship, problem-solving, and analytical reasoning skills
  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

 

Education: BS degree in CS, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related technical field and 4+ years of experience with information security, BA or BS degree in CS, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related technical field and 2+ years of experience with information security, or MA or MS degree in CS, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related technical field
