Horizon Industries Limited (HIL) is a dynamic IT and Management Consulting firm based in the Washington, DC area. We are currently seeking an Information Assurance Subject Matter Expert - Lead for a full-time position supporting the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) in Fort Belvoir, VA.

 

Job Description:

The J611 team is responsible for establishing DLA cybersecurity policy and oversight of IT security activities throughout DLA. J611 serves as one of the DLA focal point for all cybersecurity program activities. This contract focuses on the contractor support required to improve, support, manage and provide oversight for the DLA cybersecurity program through process improvements, execution, communications and training.  Support is required to maintain: Authorization Verification Team (AVT) support; enterprise continuous monitoring support; enterprise cybersecurity policy development; and task order project management.

 

Duties of an Information Assurance Subject Matter Expert - Lead may include:

  • Provides expert support, research and analysis of exceptionally complex problems, and processes relating to them 
  • Serves as technical expert to the Cybersecurity Assessment Program providing technical direction, interpretation, and alternatives to complex problems
  • Thinks independently and demonstrates exceptional written and oral communications skills
  • Applies advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts
  • Contributes to the development of new principles, concepts, and methodologies 
  • Works on unusually complex technical problems and provides highly innovative and ingenious solutions 
  • Recommends cybersecurity software tools and assists in the development of software tool requirements and selection criteria to include the development of product specific STIGs from applicable DISA SRGs
  • Works under consultative direction toward predetermined long-range goals and objectives 
  • Assignments are often self-initiated 
  • Determines and pursues courses of action necessary to obtain desired results 
  • Develops advanced technological ideas and guides their development into a final product 
  • Expertise is in the area of cybersecurity and evaluations
  • On occasion, short duration (1-5 days) site visits may be required as authorized by the Government

 

Required Skills / Experience:

  • Seven years IT experience
  • Five years IA experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for resolving security issues
  • Strong skills implementing and configuring networks and network components
  • Knowledge and understanding of DoD security regulations, DISA STIGs
  • Strong knowledge of DIACAP and RMF
  • Active DOD Secret Clearance
  • Must be eligible for IT II
  • Must possess certification meeting the DOD 8570.01 IAM level III:
    • GSLC
    • CISM
    • CISSP (or Associate)
