The Project Executive position is responsible for providing overall leadership from a project pursuit, preconstruction, and construction operations standpoint. This position is the primary point of contact for the owner and design team on significant issues and will have decision making authority on all elements related to the project or project(s) for which they manage. This position will manage the entire project team and will direct the company resources as necessary to ensure the overall project's success. In this role you may be required to travel up to 30% of the time.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and business judgment on all financial and profitability aspects of projects within position scope.
  • Participate extensively in the business development process by acquiring and defining projects. Prepares budgets that will achieve profitability objectives while taking into account project-specific challenges.
  • Ensure that the day-to-day operations of projects are transitioned effectively to Project Managers and Superintendents from Preconstruction when work commences in the field.
  • Oversee projects at a high level from beginning to end including budget, resourcing, costs, unexpected events, general performance, and overall progress against plan.
  • Engage in, and often lead client and project pursuit efforts; estimating/budgeting processes for competitive proposals.
  • Attend client meetings as necessary to monitor and manage project profitability.
  • Work with leadership and their support staff to select subcontractor partners and assign project management and field staff to assemble the most qualified project teams.
  • Participate in the hiring process and build high performing teams, through mentoring and coaching, training and development and helping others identify opportunities for new and challenging experiences.
  • Manage and enhance client, owner, architect and subcontractor relationships from a business development standpoint through personal networks, previous client relationships and community involvement to secure future work.
  • Work with project managers and pre-construction teams to develop and monitor risk management and/or mitigation plans and strategies to support project success.
  • Preside over turnover meeting between preconstruction and operation teams after project award.
  • Visit sites regularly to monitor project performance, schedule, and expenditures with project staff, highlight potential challenges and provide leadership in responding creatively to bring projects in on schedule and under budget, where feasible.
  • Attend owner and project meetings, maintain continuous client contact to gauge performance perceptions and communicate relevant information to Project Team.
  • Active involvement in the community and industry; active participant on committee or boards in relevant industry associations.
Requirements: 
  • Bachelor's Degree in Building Science, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field preferred
  • 10-15 years of extensive project management experience in large, complex facility construction and on-site experience in the management of new construction and the renovation of existing assets
  • Advanced knowledge of principles and practices of budgeting, accounting and procurement in order to manage construction projects
  • Thorough understanding of the A/E/C industry terminology and procedures
  • Proficient in MS Office and scheduling software (Suretrak, Project, P6, Procore, Revit, VICO, or equivalent)
  • Valid Driver's License required
