Vice President(Head of Consumer Practice)

 

Basic Function

 

The position is accountable for providing strategy and direction for company development as well as all client engagements and managing client contact at both top and working level. In this role, he/she delivers new business growth for new and existing clients, regularly assesses the abilities of talent and assists in their career development and shares firm management responsibility as assigned as a member of Top Team, makes decision as required.

 

Qualifications

 

         12+ years of full-time experience in PR (a minimum of 8 years of agency experience) with established expertise in related practice areas.

         Proven success in identifying and securing new business and maintaining or growing existing business.

         Proven leadership skills (building teams and establishing a positive team environment with consistent mentorship and utilizing professional network to draw in talent).

         Ability to develop effective and actionable communications strategies.

         Excellent client service skills combined with well-developed account management, team management and campaign planning skills.

         Proven ability to manage internal and external stakeholders effectively.

         Contribute accurately to forecasts used by senior management to develop business plans for the office and agency.

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

1.      CLIENT SERVICE

You will COUNSEL using your sector/service knowledge and experience to bring wisdom and insight to client engagements.

 

         Priorities are consumer/lifestyle/luxury clients where you can deliver wisdom and insight to clients and client leaders.

         Develop and own client relationships at a local level, while supporting clients in Greater China as needed.

         Be a trusted advisor whose wisdom is sought out to client leads, providing guidance and direction based on issues relevant to the client organization.

         Manage complex programs and provide direction in challenging situations.

         Advise on the integration of multiple service offerings to address client challenges.

         Ensure client contracts are signed and all further projects have appropriate authorization with billing instructions where necessary

         Manage client relationship, clean up issues or crises

 

2.      NEW BUSINESS

You will CREATE by identifying large-scale new business opportunities with existing clients and prospects and then lead and win pitches.

 

         Head to proactively develop and target new business opportunities and Delivers significant new business growth for new and existing clients.

       Partner with Client Service Leaders to grow existing clients.

       Lead H+K response to relevant RFPs.

 

3.      THOUGHT LEADERSHIP

You will INSPIRE through thought-leadership and shared wisdom, to promote and build a practice area, while growing and nurturing our talent.

 

       Create and deliver a program of activity around practice thought leadership.

       Help develop a Consumer/Lifestyle/Luxury Practice in China.

 

4.      TEAM MANAGEMENT

         Responsible for P&L, accurately plans and forecasts budgeting work, including budget monitoring and remedial action where appropriate, ensure responsible teams deliver revenue and profit target as budgeted.

         Achieve utilization target per company standard, ensure team members’ achievement of target utilization.

         Manage teams, resolve challenges with colleagues, management, and subordinates in a tactful and productive way, manage team’s turnover rate.

         Understand of and effective use of staff planning / staff cost to fee ratios.
