Business Analyst

HighPoint’s professionals focus exclusively on helping government agencies and companies implement their most critically strategic initiatives. The role of Business Analyst contributes to HighPoint through involvement in the development of both business and technical solutions. Working closely with project managers, systems and business stakeholders, and others, the Business Analyst will participate in meetings, collect and document requirements, be involved in process improvement and quality efforts, and contribute to solutions that benefit the entire organization. This person applies business analysis (BA) best practices and works with business and systems stakeholders across the organization to improve business processes and user experiences with a variety of applications.

  • Possess a thorough understanding of the software development life cycle and various methodologies.


  • Prioritize multiple tasks/duties.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers on assigned projects and tasks.
  • Assist teams in defining problems, identifying root causes, and designing and implementing solutions.
  • Work with business partners to establish and improve processes to improve quality, efficiency, and effectiveness.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration and methodical approaches to problem-solving.
  • Serve as a liaison between technical resources and business stakeholders.
  • Review high-level deliverables across projects.
  • Adhere to Capability Maturity Model Integration Model (CMMI) methodology and standards.
  • Adhere to defined Standard Operational Procedures (SOPs) and departmental quality methodology and processes.
  • Partner with internal and external customers to ensure company and project goals are met.
  • Capture, organize, and maintain system requirement documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with developers to implement the requirements.
  • Develop comprehensive test cases and participate in testing during the Quality Assurance process.
  • Communication and education of all team members on best practices.


  • Bachelor’s degree (BS or BA) required in a technical or business field and 4 to 8 years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Certification (CBAP or CBATL) preferred
  • Certified Agile practitioner (ACP or equivalent) preferred
